Photo diary of a giant sequoia seedling

Here you can see the "photo diary" of the first giant sequoia seedling that germinated here in the middle of winter, as an experiment.
It is offspring of the giant sequoia of Esneux, Belgium's largest giant redwood.

A month and a week old

Two months old

After spending a week at the coast, the tips of the leaves were not looking good.
Probably it got a "sun burn" by standing too close to the window glass.

Two months and a half

Four and a half months old

The first months, during winter time, the little tree did not grow very fast. Now, with summer in sight, it looks like it wants to set something straight :-).

The needles of the new twigs are now more scale like and look more like the ones of fully grown giant sequoia.
