(en) I have been down and photographed these trees again today when the estate is open so that some human figures can give a context of size. Wonderful photographer that I am I have cut the top off the tallest tree in one of the photos. You guys were right, they are Beeches, I had a look through binoculars. The human figures that I photographed were men and tall men, I estimated from the size of the bench when ladies passed by it. The camera drains it's batteries very quickly and I missed more figures, men and women together which gave a context of size to the bench. The photo at the bottom was a tall gentleman and two ladies whom I did catch. Using the old photo technique I am getting 172 mm against 6.5 mm. Assuming the men are around 72 inches tall in shoes, it gives a height estimation of 158.76 feet, 48.40 metres? The other tree gives 166mm against 6.5 mm, 153.23 feet, 46.71 metres.
