Giant sequoia in the street Hofstett in Neuweiler

There is one giant sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum) in the street Hofstett in Neuweiler (Calw).

This is by far the strongest Giant Redwood in Germany. It contains a burl which reaches nearly 2m up the trunk.

Girth at ground level: 21.55 m, at 1m: 14.03m, at 1.3m: 12.88m, at 2m: 10.12m, at 3m: 8.33m (measured in June 2009).

Multiple top damaging (storm/lightning), regenerated quite well.

This tree is placed on a private property and can only be seen from outside the private ground.

The girth of the tree is 12.88 m measured at a height of 1.30 m (Jun 2009, RedwoodMike). Its height is exactly 36.00 m (Jun 2009, laser with Sine method (e.g. Nikon Forestry 550 laser rangefinder), RedwoodMike). This tree was planted in 1867, which makes it exactly 146 years old (RedwoodMike, Jul 16, 2012).
