Hi, I did not see this tree as part of a guided swamp tour.

I simply rented a canoe at McGee's landing, and left off into the swamp on my own, having nothing but my camera and some food.

It was really nice, I saw thousands of swamp cypress trees, and lots of turtles and alligators. Most of the trees were sadly enough not old growth ones, due to the heavy logging in the area. The way back was a bit harder, as a storm was approaching and the wind was not in my favour. I got back in time at McGee's - who were really friendly - to drive to Houston to attend a rally of Obama, who was then in a primary election struggle with Hillary Clinton.

Kind regards,

Very Good. Very, very good. This is an amazing sight. Was this part of the swamp tour or did you find this spot on your own?

Also this place sounded familiar. I clicked the coordinates of the tree and found it was just north of a semi-famous juke joint bar called Angelle's Whiskey River Landing. Many Zydeco bands and famous people have played and visited the place. Stevie Ray Vaughn played there and Robert Plant visited there one time. Anyway you got a great and unique picture of a great tree. Thanks.
